New Fashion App!

Finally it has been launched! A new mobile app has launched which enables users to source and shop a particular style of clothing, based on a photo that they upload.
While I was studying at university we were talking about apps and things they could do for consumers whilst shopping etc..there was talk of something similar to this and now it is here! This App was created by a graduate, which I'm not surprised about as us students/graduates talk about all the possibilities whilst at university, maybe I need to start creating one!
It is described as "a sartorial search engine", the Snap Fashion app works by trawling through thousands of products available to buy online - to bring you the items which are the closest match to your photo.
So, for example, if you've seen a particular Breton striped T-shirt that you like in your favourite magazine e.g Vogue or Elle. - you could take a photo of it using your camera phone and upload to the app, which will deliver more similar stripy offerings that are available to buy online at that moment. The app is the first of its kind in the UK, and was the brainchild of 25-year-old computer science graduate Jenny Griffiths.
"I was tired of shopping on a student budget," explained Griffiths. "I love admiring looks in magazines, on the catwalks and those that other women put together, but when it came to sourcing the items that I liked - within my budget - I struggled. Using technology to search via images seemed like the most obvious thing to do."
Snap Fashion has an extensive list of affiliate sites which it scans by colour, cut and style to find the best match, delivering the results to you in seconds. Users are then able to click through on each product to buy online directly, or save in their favourites folder for later.
