Cara Delevingne for Topshop Campaign

Cara Delevingne is the new face of Topshop, it was going to happen as soon as she hit the scene and was compared to Kate Moss.

The supermodel appears in the brands Autumn/Winter 2014 global campaign, becoming the first solo face to do so. Cara will front Topshop's advertising across print and outdoor, as well as appearing on the stores in-store graphics e.g. POS (point of sale), look books?

Cara is everywhere right now, you must have noticed?
She has fronted campaigns such as Mulberry, whom she has created a collection for.
Will she follow in Kate Moss' footsteps and create a capsule collection for Topshop too..watch this space.

The 12 images from the campaign are stunning, photographed by Alasdair McLellan
the photos show off the brand and Cara's personality which both fit well together.

Behind the scenes video

Every photo is my favourite, so it was hard to pick just a few to show off on this post!
I'll pin them all on my Pinterest page.

Why is everyone buying Ray Bans?

I've noticed as summer time and holidays have commenced, friends and acquaintances  have invested in a pair of Ray Bans. Why is this? Are we at the age, where we have the income to make a stylish investment? Or is it because Ray Bans have always been a classic and must-have eyewear? Is it because celebrities have been wearing them and we aspire to celebrity fashion?

It could be all of the above.

Brief history: It started way back in the 1930s, the aviator was born. As new airplanes allowed people to fly higher, many US Air Force pilots were reporting that the glare from the sun was giving them headaches and sickeness. New glasses were introduced with green lenses that would cut out the glare without obscuring vision, the Ray-Ban was born.

I won't bore you with too much history, the classic aviator was re-modeled and went on sale in 1937.

During the war, they were popular and in 1961 Audrey Hepburn worn the Ray-Ban's Wayfarer, in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' which became one of the most instantly recognisable fashion accessories ever.  - So who today, wouldn't want to look like the glamorous Audrey?

In the 1960/70s and 80s there were celebrity endorsements in films.

The Never Hide campaign was launched in 2007, a very cool stand-out campaign.

They now come in different styles and colours. Ray Bans have become a staple summer must-have.

"Through every decade of its existence, Ray-Ban has shaped popular culture. Never just a transient trend, Ray-Ban eyewear marks out the wearer as an individual of taste and discernment. And now, 75 years after the first pairs of Ray-Ban Aviator helped US pilots reach new heights, Ray-Ban remains an enduring classic" [Ray-Ban history]

The classic aviator style.

Different coloured shades, so they go with every outfit and are great for standing out this summer.

Girlie pink, I have my eye on these!

The Wayfarer

Maybe I should invest in a pair?

A classic style that will never go out of fashion, just only get better with age!

Victoria Beckham on the cover of British Vogue

British Vogue -August issue, Victoria Beckham, behind the scenes film.

Styled by Lucinda Chambers, Victoria Beckham is getting stuck into gardening, a different look to her usual glamorous self.

Photographed by one of my favourite photographers; Patrick Dermarchelier, the front cover shows a country-style Victoria Beckham looking sophisticated and below she is wearing Hunter wellies and a farmer/gardener style hat which she manages to make look good.

Check out the shoot in the video above.

Photographer Olivia Bee "Kids In Love" Exhibition

I love discovering new photographers. I discovered 20-year old American photographer Olivia Bee on i-D magazines Facebook post. She started her career aged 14, Bee was dicovered on Flickr by Converse who invited her to shoot their upcoming campaign (so lucky!) Her work has also been used in campaigns for Nike and Fiat.

She has an exhbition in New York (too far to visit for me!) called 'Kids in Love', 21st June - 26th July.

"Kids In Love" consists of colour and black & white photographs that Olivia has taken of friends and people she loves, the photos are captured through her eyes.

"These photos are optimistic even when they're sad. Everything feels like the end and the beginning of the world when you're 16 years old" - Olivia Bee.

I love this style, it's natural, fun and it's capturing your friends, one of the best subjects!

If you can, I would recommend checking out this exhibition.
