I'm handing in my final major project proposal on friday, after working endless hours on it, it will soon be handed in!
From January I will be working on my major project, I hope you will like what I propose to do. I will be sending out a survey for some more primary research and looking to cast some male models! 


Over the christmas period I'm going to be working on my dissertation which is about airbrushing. Exciting subject but not when you are writing it over party season! 

Anyway, hope you are enjoying your christmas shopping as well as treating yourself to some must have party outfits! There are so many deals on too, so I hope you are not paying full price!

Press Week

So this week I have been to New Look Press Week! It has been very tiring and long hours, my feet hurt so much now! However, it has been amazing! I have learnt so much from this experience, i've loved it! I have been busy doing lots of things, preparing for press day and meeting people in the industry including Giles Deacon.

Kelly Brook arrived in the evening of press day, that was exciting! She looked absolutely stunning! 

There was a catwalk show, I helped with dressing the models for the catwalk! 

It has been great, thank you to Peter and all the New Look Press team! Look forward to the next one!

Model Casting

I am currently researching and writing my proposal for my final major project which I will be working on between January and May 2012. 
I am looking for some male models for my project. If you are interested let me know. 
I will post some more information at a later date. I am super busy, so this is just a short post for now! 

I would love to recreate this photo. It is similar to some of my work I have done before. When I did a Vogue project for University, i used underwear as outerwear as my trend and decided to shoot using red props. I used red netting for the front cover shot. I love to use red within my photographs.

In the next weeks to come.. I will be super busy, i'll be writing my dissertation and researching and writing my major project proposal! Very important and lots of work to do. I have choices to make, what do I want to do for my major project? What will help and benefit me for my career? Exciting decisions to make.

I'll blog on here every chance I get, but just so you know if I don't! Wish me luck!

Hot Like Us

Hot Like Us is a BBC 3 programme that started last night. It puts "hot" couples to the test not only with their modelling but with their relationship with each other.
The first shoot was underwear, however the men had to buy for the women and vice versa putting their relationship to the test, will they get the right size? 
It was interesting to watch the couples posing with each other in underwear, it revealed a lot. Some couples weren't connected as much as they should have been. Relationship expert picked up on everything.One couple were very much there for each other and it showed through the photos producing great results. If they want this modelling contract at the end, they need to be connected. 
One couple who weren't connected on camera, unfortunately went home last night and so lost their chance of the modelling contract.


I would love to do a couples underwear shoot, but looking at this I will have to choose my couples very carefully if I want successful photos!

Have you been watching Gok's Clothes Roadshow? If not, catch up! Or it's on tonight (tuesdays) on channel 4 at 8pm! 


Gok shows you how to "Get the Look for Less". I am a big fan of Gok because he shows women that they can look good and brings back the confidence they need or may have lost. 


He has been to Southampton, Bristol, Manchester,Birmingham and Liverpool styling up women who then strut down the live show catwalk! 
Gok also shares his haberdashery tricks of the trade to demonstrate how to look on trend for just a few pennies.


And many more exciting things on the show...i recommend you all watch it!

Helllooooo

I haven't abandoned you promise!!
So, what have I been doing instead?


As you know, I am in my final year of University. So, I am busy doing lots of work. A lot of writing at the moment; reflecting on my internship at New Look Press Office and Betty Blues Loungerie. 
Also, writing a synopsis for my dissertation. I can't believe how quickly it's all going, soon I will actually be writing my dissertation!


What is my dissertation about? Some of you may know already from completing my survey as part of my research. The subject is airbrushing and I want to find out if our perception of beauty has been distorted? 
I will be doing lots of research (have already done a lot already).


Anyway, it hasn't all been writing luckily! Before I went back to University, I did a photoshoot for a friend,taking photographs of her and her business partner. She is starting up a new business which is very exciting! So, along side doing University work i've been editing the photographs, I hope she likes the results! 


I have a couple of other photography jobs lined up too for friends which will probably take place spring/summer time when the weather is better and when I might have a little less University work!

I'm starting my final year of University in October, i'm looking forward to my new exciting journey. I'm going to be working very hard this year, big work load. I hope to keep my blog going but apologise in advance if i let it slip a bit. I hope you have all enjoyed reading my posts so far!

Robbie Williams newly launched fashion label Farrell

The menswear label is named after William's grandfather - Jack Farrell, who's style was a staring point for the Take That star. The collection is stocked exclusively at House of Fraser. 

The collection features macs, duffle coats, check shirts, dinner shirts and hats.

It was always important to his grandfather to look smart, Robbie likes this, he believes in this too.

I unfortunately won't be going this year, as I am busy doing so many things at the moment,also money is a bit tight.. I have been the past couple of years though. 
I have always had a good time with my mum and friends who have come with me. Always come away with lots of bags of freebies and purchases!
Definitely recommend getting tickets for the catwalk show.It's good fun to see the new collections and take some photos!

As the new season approaches there is so much excitement in the fashion world. September issues thick with the exciting new trends. This week the october issues of Elle, Harper's Bazaar and Glamour arrived at my door.Summer isn't yet over but already I find myself flicking through the pages of october issues!

Glamour Magazine

Glamour arrived this morning, with a subscribers edition cover which I love! Not so keen on the high street cover at all tbh. 
Sadly, I have cancelled my Glamour subscription because I prefer to buy it on the go! Being at uni and having two addresses was a bit confusing when Glamour was in the wrong place! I will still stay faithful but just buy it on the go! 

Anyway... enough of me rambling . WOW! this cover is so different to what Glamour usually do.They usually have bright colourful colours. The logo is never black.( not that I can remember anyway) I love it though, black and white looks very sophisticated.It's so simple too. Britney looks great on the cover. 

Rosie Huntington- Whiteley...

Rosie is the new face of M&S along with Ryan Reynolds and David Gandy for their autumn campaign. 
This will definitely create a new fresh, young look on the brand! I'm excited!

Sorry I haven't been blogging for the past 10 days. I have been abroad shooting with no internet access. I have loads of good photos that I will be editing over the next week or so keeping me busy! Will keep you updated though! 

Mario Testino is set to be awarded...

Photographer Mario Testino is set to be awarded the inaugural Moet & Chandon Etoile Award. The prize will be presented to Mario in a glittering ceremony on 19th September, recognises the contribution of an individual of exceptional talent, who has had a longstanding influence on our cultural society.
Mario's 30 year career includes subjects; Kate Moss, Gisele Bunchen, Penelope Cruz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, Madonna,Diana,Princess of Wales and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge engagement pictures.

Exciting! My business cards arrived! Very pleased with them. 

Today's photoshoot..

Today I did a photoshoot based on the inspiration from Abbey Clancy's photos in Love Magazine (A/W 2010) in an earlier post I mentioned that I wanted to do a photoshoot like this.(Attitude.Black leather jacket.Red lipstick.Messy up do hair) 
My model Courtney usually does Jack Wills inspired shoots with me, so this was very different. It was successful though, I knew it would be. I had no doubts, I knew Courtney would be able to get into this role and produce great results.
Now to edit the photos, they are going to be black and white!

New Clothing Line...

Robert Pattinson has been inspired by Kellan Lutz to create his own fashion line. The Twilight star, who plays Pattinson's vampire brother in the film series, launched his debut clothing range in LA last week.


"Rob and I were talking about doing a clothing line together!," Lutz told E! Online. "[Pattinson] didn't know I was doing mine. He's like, 'I should do one' and I'm like, 'Oh'. And he found out I was doing one and he's like, 'Really?' It was really funny. He wants to do one too. What'd we call it, we called it Rags by Rob or something, because he's always so like, I don't know... hipster."

Kurt Geiger launched it's new accessories collection: "Everything But The Dress" It is in it's brand new off- Bond Street store and relaunched website. The collection features ( as it's name suggests) every accessory your outfit could possibly need,marks a new direction for the brand.

W Magazine - Kristen Stewart

 OMG! WOW! Were my first words when I saw this front cover of W magazine.Kristen looks so different, so much older and her eyes are just wow! 
I think because she usually doesn't wear much make up and is a casual dresser. It is a real transformation. Below are some insider photos. Stunning.She looks very vampire like. 

Last day at New Look  yesterday as I said in an older post. Going to miss my friends I have made there, hope to see them in the future and stay in contact. I have been given some great feedback from the company and I am welcome to return again which is good as I would like to! 

Painting your toenails? Not sure what colour?

I was undecided what colour I should paint my toenails, they were bright barbie pink, could do that again but bit bored of that, was going to go for a darker glitter pink. Anyways.. decided on hot red! Matches my beach bag!

Internship

Last Monday (1st August) I started an internship at New Look Press Office, London. Tomorrow is my last day! I have enjoyed this placement. I have gained good experience of working life and how the press office operates. I have made friends in which I hope to stay in contact with. 
On this placement, I have styled/visual merchandised the showroom which includes shoes,bags,accessories and jewellery. I have tidied away clothes in the showroom wardrobes and out on display. Kept it tidy and looking good for buyers,events and whoever else who visits the showroom. I have gained PR knowledge.
I have looked through newspapers and magazines on a daily basis for new look coverage and relevant competitor coverage.
Overall, these two weeks have gone very fast,been very busy and it's been a great experience. I wish my intern friends all the best for the future too and you never know we may be working together one day!

Marie Claire September Issue

The Fashion Issue starring Anne Hathaway.


I love this photo of Anne Hathaway in the "One Day" (book by David Nicholls) special. The photos are beautiful but this one I think doesn't look like her at first.It is stunning and elegant. Black and white shows the good contrast and the light on her face showing true beauty.I like the dress too.

New Look have some great shoes in at the moment for the new season. Great colour palette that is going to do serious damage to my bank! 

Little Liberty

Liberty is re-launching it's children's department in February 2012, due to customer demand. It ceased carrying kidswear six years ago and plans to stock fashion, accessories, books, furniture,toys and gifts in the new third- floor department. And a Liberty-print kidswear line is expected to follow later on in the year.
Kidswear is one of the main things they get asked about. It will be an electric mix that blurs the line between designer and contemporary.


Ed Burstell revelaed that the department will carry childrenswear by Isabel Marant and Acne,both making their childrenswear debut,as well as Stella McCartney, Lanvin, 3.1, Philip Lim and Little Marc.

Lara Stone face of Tom Ford Violet Blonde

Lara Stone is already the face of Tom Ford Beauty. She is now also fronting the ad campaign for Tom Ford's "Violet Blonde" fragrance. The ad has a healthy infusion of raw sex appeal and sensuality.

I love the bold colours used, Lara Stone fits the ad well I think. 

Harper's Bazaar - September Issue

Check out Mark Segal, photograher who ventured into the Kenyan wilderness to shoot the main fashion story. "Heart of darkness" " It was the first time I ever had to stop shooting because an elephant came too close to the team." he says. He has also shot campaigns for Louis Vuitton,YSL and Donna Karan.
